# Legacy Hedra API Quickstart

> Quickstart for the legacy Hedra API. Building something new? Use the Hedra v3 API on the Developer Platform instead.

Access almost all of the world's leading image, video, and audio models — including Nano Banana Pro, Veo, Grok, Kling, and more — via the Hedra API, using the same account your team uses to create content on the Hedra platform.

### Step 1: Use a paid Hedra account

The public API requires a paid Hedra subscription and uses the same Studio
credit balance as the Hedra app.

### Step 2: Register an API key

Go to [API keys](https://www.hedra.com/develop/api-keys) and generate a key. Make
sure the account has enough Studio credits for the generation you want to run.

### Step 3: Make your first API call

Set your API key and list available models:
